When one sees a statline of 38 pts, 18 rebs, 6 asts, and 4 blks; the first thing that comes to mind is that a video game has been played. But, In this case this is Hutchinson Hawks senior wing, Kevin Rima, numbers from the highly anticipated contest with the Eielson Ravens. Rima, A 6-6 wing, displayed an array of talents that will make him a shoe in for his third straight all-state selection. Following a 3A Alaska State Championship in 2009, Rima has assumed the leadership role and has his team primed for a possible repeat. His numbers this year are outstanding: 22.5 pts, 17.3 rebs , 3.4 asts, and 3.7 blks per outing. He has two sisters that are division 1 athletes. Marjorie(6-2) is a triple jump specialist at Arizona State University and Melissa(6-3) is a small forward for Boise State University. Kevin, like his sisters, has tremendous athletic ability boasting a 41 inch vertical and he knows how to uses it on both ends of the floor.
Rima is a definite low major talent, and with the grooming of a juco, he could be a guy that is great on the mid -major level.
