The c/o 2010 is shaping up to be a solid class from this area.  Several players have already signed D1 offers during the early period and there should be several more to come.  Lets look at the top guards in the area:

Langston Galloway 6’3″ Christian Life Academy- Langston has already signed to St Joseph (Pa).  He is a smart player with great outside shooting abitlity and a growing athleticism.

Michael Harrell 5’10″ Southern Lab- Michael is a shifty point with an explosive first step and super court vision.  He has really improved his outside shooting and has verbally commited to Southeastern Louisiana.

Demitri Gill 6’2″ Maurepas- Gill is a solid scorer from mid range has has solid all around tools.  He needs to become consistent every game but could be a low D1 prospect.

DJ Cobb 6’0″ Pointe Coupee Central- Great scorer and shooter who showed that he could run the point last season.  Enjoys an uptempo style and a trapping defense.  He is still perfecting his point guard skills but is getting closeer.  His shooting along garners D1 attention.

Brandon Johnson 5’11″ Glen Oaks- Solid guard with unselfish style.  Would be a perfect program player for any school.  He is continuing to improve his defense on elite guards but should accomplish this through his work ethic.  Had 19 points the first game of the season and 4 3pts.

Ronald Magee 6’4″ Istrouma- Dead eye shooter from anywhere with good length.  He is a high major shooter, still needs to keep working on his defense and rebounding but it is improving and can be accomplished.  Was commited to UNO but has reopened his recruiting process.

Andre Scott 5’11″ Glen Oaks- Long range shooter with solid athleticism.  Has good ability as a SG and would need to play there are have time to develop into a PG.  Could help a DII or NAIA program.

Eric Vidrine 6’2″ Woodlawn BR- solid 3pt shooter who needs to work on other aspects of his game.  We will see if he has improved some since this summer.

Tyler Washington 6’1″ Port Allen- Very improved player with great pull up jumper and solid 3pt ability.  This is a player who enjoys shutting down the other teams best player.  He will score 25 ppg this season, toughness attacking the rim will be where we want to see improvement.  He could definetly help a D1 program.

Cory Self 5’9″ Christian Life Academy- Quick lefty with outside shooting ability.  Needs to play the PG role this season to help team return to championship status.  DII or NAIA type player right now.

Joe Kirk 6’3″ Tara- Good scorer on what has been a bad team.  Needs to add weight to compete on next level but is a solid outside shooter.

Dontrelle Butler 5’7″ Duhnam- Super quick and solid 3pt shooter.  Quick hands on defense but size will hurt him in long run.  Team should have good season and he may be able to help a small college.

Kyle Planchard 5’7″ Duhnam- Another quick guard with long distance shooting ability.  He is not quite as athletic as Butler but together they are tough to guard in the open court.

Donovan Richardson 5’8″ East Iberville- Do everything guard for his team.  He handles, scores and sets up others.  Had 22 points in opening game of the season.

Kevin Caire 5’11″ Catholic High- Tough PG with excellent drive and kick ability.  Needs to keep working on 3pt shot but is tough to guard one on one.  Could play small college ball.
